Meet Luigi Marino
Luigi is an Assistant Director at Athletic Lab. In this role, Luigi has several key responsibilities including leading coaching education efforts for the Athletic Lab Coaching Academy in Brazil and Portugal. Luigi also serves as the Director of Rehabilitation for the North Carolina Courage as part of Athletic Lab’s partnership with the soccer club.
Luigi has dual masters degrees. He has an MS in Exercise Physiology from São Paulo School of Medicine and an MS in Sports Training Methodology from São Paulo State University. Additionally, Luigi earned his BS in Physical Education from the University of Ribeirão Preto. He is also recognized as a Level 3 Certified High Performance Coach by the Athletic Lab Coaching Academy, a Level 4 EXOS Performance Specialist, and has completed the Altis Apprentice Coach Program.
Luigi has over 25 years of experience working in elite sports performance. In team sport, he was the Physical Preparation Coordinator for the Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras (aka Palmeiras FC) Academy and was a performance consultant for São Paulo FC.
Prior to joining Athletic Lab in the United States, Luigi founded and ran ELITE Training. The company is one of the premier coaching education companies in the world. Through ELITE Training, Luigi has educated thousands of coaches, including being the lead Portuguese language instructor for the Athletic Lab Coaching Academy three level course in Brazil and Portugal.
