Athletic Lab continues to update our training schedule to meet the demands of our members while staying within the all applicable COVID-19 restrictions. Per the most recent North Carolina announcements, the state will remain in Phase 2 through at least September 11th. Gyms and fitness facilities remain restricted under Phase 2 guidelines. In response to this most recent extension as well as feedback on our current schedule, Athletic Lab has updated our schedule and class offerings. Please note the following updates that will go into effect on Monday August 24th.
We are offering virtual, indoor and outdoor training options. Please note the classification for each class on the schedule below. Attendance is limited for both indoor and outdoor training. Indoor training is offered for those who are interested in training indoors using the NC Phase 2 medical allowance. This allowance permits members to train indoors if they have been advised to do so by a medical professional. Due to privacy concerns, it is illegal for anyone to inquire about your medical status. As such, if you join an indoor session, it will be assumed you meet this criterion.

Reservation Policy
Spaces are limited for all classes so that we can enforce social distancing and cleanliness. Spaces are not guaranteed unless they have been reserved in advance. All reservations should be made through our membership management portal. Participation in all sessions requires an active membership (or a paid drop-in) and completion of a supplemental waiver. Members may complete the supplemental waiver on their membership management portal if they have not already done so. Individuals with prior reservations and those attending coached classes will be given priority for space. Time slots will be limited to the scheduled duration of the class or open gym session.
Outdoor Open Gym
Reservations are required. Equipment and a supervisory coach will be onsite and outdoors for Open Gym hours. Members may follow our remote programming or do a session of their choosing during these times. Individuals will be assigned their own “training bay” to ensure safe social distancing and allow staff to appropriately clean equipment after each use. A maximum of 6 reservable training bays will be available each day. During outdoor class times, training bays are unavailable for open gym.
Outdoor Classes
Reservations are required. Individuals will be assigned their own “training bay” to ensure safe social distancing and allow staff to appropriately clean equipment after each use. A maximum of 6-8 reservable training bays will be available depending on the class.
Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of poor weather conditions that risk health and safety, Athletic Lab will make every attempt to move outdoor classes indoors under the NC medical allowance. Please note that this is subject to activities that are already scheduled indoors and we will not violate NC Phase 2 guidelines for occupancy or group sizes.
Indoor Classes
Note that all indoor Performance Fitness classes are held under the NC Medical waiver allowance. If you train indoors it will be assumed that you have been medically advised to do so. For your personal privacy, you do not have to share the reasons for your medical advice and it is illegal for anyone to inquire.
Drop-ins and Free Trials
Due to concerns of space management, we will not be offering free trials during the Phase 2 restriction period. We ask that anyone wishing to attend without an existing membership reserve and pay the standard class drop-in fee. In the event that the individual signs up for an active membership, the drop-in fee will be credited towards the first membership payment.
Hold Policy
Our COVID-19 account hold policy will be extended. Members may place their account on hold at no additional cost through at least September 11th. Please contact us if you are interested.
