As always, our member safety and wellbeing are our top priorities and we have taken several steps to ensure that Athletic Lab can provide an environment that meets this goal. You may read the most recent North Carolina guidelines for Gym and Indoor Fitness Centers here.
What to Expect
Before your Visit
- Reservations are required in an effort to ensure social distancing and cleanliness. All reservations should be made through our membership management portal. Participation in all sessions requires an active membership (or a paid class drop-in) and completion of a supplemental waiver. Free trial sessions will only be permitted in certain group classes. Open Gym drop-ins are not being permitted at this time.
- If you have not already done so, please complete the supplemental waiver via on our membership management portal.
- To cut down on person-to-person contact, we request that online accounts be utilized for payment and digital waivers in advance of any sessions.
Arrival & Before Class
- If you are sick, have a fever, cough or have been exposed to COVID-19, we request that you please stay home.
- Please limit use of the lobby whenever possible. The mask mandate will be required again starting on 8/20/21 until further notice. Masks are required in the lobby and throughout Athletic Lab’s facility.
- Our public kiosks are closed at this time. Our coaches will be entering attendance for each class.
- Members will be provided with a sanitized bottle of disinfectant and a sanitized cleaning rag. Please help us by wiping down your equipment.
- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water before the start of your training session. Alternatively, hand sanitizer is available by the men’s locker room.
- Masks are required at all times while indoors. This includes in the lobby and walk way areas, while waiting for your session to begin, during your session, and at the conclusion of your session. If you do not have a mask, we have masks available in the training hall. Masks will not be required if training outdoors and social distancing practices are being observed.
- We will be limiting the number of individuals in the facility at one time. Out of fairness to subsequent training sessions, we ask that members not linger before or after their session. In addition, guests and free trials will not be permitted without prior reservations (walk-ins are not accepted at this time).
During Class
- Individuals will be assigned a designated training space that exceeds social distancing guidelines. The majority, if not all sessions will be conducted so that members can stay in their designated space in an effort to maximize social distancing and to minimize shared equipment.
- Please maintain a social distance of 6 feet (2 meters) and adhere to any distance guidelines marked out on the floor. As an extension, please do not hug, high five, or hand shake individuals outside of your household.
- Programming will be designed to facilitate social distancing and to minimize equipment sharing.
- Masks are mandatory, even while working out. The only exception is if a class is outdoors and all participants are a minimum of 6 feet apart.
- We ask that you not touch any equipment unnecessarily. It’s not a problem to touch the equipment you’re going to use for training, but please be mindful not to touch equipment indiscriminately.
- We have purchased automatic liquid chalk dispensers for your use. As always, we ask that members please use the chalk sparingly.
After Class
- After class, please place your used disinfectant bottle and rag on the floor or in the designated bin so that it can be sanitized before reuse.
- Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds prior to leaving.
- Please exit the facility promptly following the conclusion of class. We will be limiting the number of individuals in the facility at one time. Out of fairness to subsequent training sessions, we ask that members not linger before or after their session.
- Retail will only be available with the assistance of a staff member.
Additional Measures to Keep you Safe
- We are conducting extensive deep cleaning throughout the day and at the conclusion of each day.
- Classes will be programmed to minimize the amount of equipment used and eliminate physical contact with other members.
- When possible, classes will be taken outside due to reduced risk of spread outdoors.
- We have installed contactless hand sanitizer dispensers.
- We have installed contactless liquid chalk dispensers.
- We have installed a ‘sneeze shield’ at our lobby desk.
- Gym wipes are available throughout the training hall.
- We have upgraded cleaning supplies and equipment to exceed the suggestions of the CDC.
- Visitors and observers will not be permitted in the training hall at this time without a reservation. Please set up an appointment if you wish to have a facility tour.
Schedule Changes
- We are in the process of making schedule adjustments to our group training schedule to limit the number of individuals in our facility at the same time, maximize social distance, and ensure cleanliness of the facility.
- Changes to our schedule may occur more frequently than usual as we adapt to the current situation.
- The most updated schedule can always be found on our Schedule Page.
- Class reservations are required. Class reservations up to the class attendance limit will ensure a space in a training session on a first come first served basis. Attendance caps depend on the type of class and whether or not there are other classes taking place at the same time.
- For the time being, indoor open gym access is not permitted outside of limited times and designated space. We request that members do not show up to train inside/outside (before or after) of designated time slots.
- We will have a hard close each evening to ensure that we are able to adequately clean the facility each night. Members may not enter the facility after the start of the last scheduled training session and we request all members to exit the facility by the hard closing time.
