hlcSummertime is coming and everyone wants to look their best. That’s why we’re excited to announce the return of our highly successful Healthy Living Challenge. The average participant in our Healthy Living Challenge loses 4% body fat and learns sustainable healthy lifestyle changes that allow them to maintain or continue their losses! We recently finished an 8 week post-New Years Healthy Living Challenge that was our largest and most successful yet. This time we’re switching things up a bit and incorporating the psychology of Loss Aversion. Loss aversion refers to people’s tendency to strong preference of avoiding losses over acquiring gains. Most studies suggest that the fear of loss is twice as powerful, psychologically, as gains.

Here are the details:

  • Duration: 6 weeks
  • Date: April 25th-June 5th
  • Cost: $59.95-199.95 (see below for details)

    • Pre and Post Performance Testing

How it works:
  • fitbitMembers will commit to pay at the conclusion of the challenge.
  • Members will commit to purchase or rent a FitBit wristband. FitBit is a wearable wristband that allows wearers to track the number of steps they take in a day, the number of floors they climb and the quality and duration of their sleep. Once registered, you can purchase or rent a FitBit charge. They are available for purchase for $76 which is 40% off the normal retail price ($119.95 + tax). Alternatively, a FitBit can be rented for $36.
  • Participation in the challenge will provide each member with 140 points. Throughout the challenge members have the opportunity to retain their points by successfully completing challenges. Failure to complete daily challenges will result in a loss of some or all of that day’s points. Daily challenges will range from total walking step count, completing and submitting daily food logs and working out.
  • There will be a total of 140 points worth of challenges.
  • Every point that a member successfully retains at the conclusion of the challenge will be subtracted from the initial cost of participation.
  • The cost for participation can range from $59.95 (for someone who successfully completed all challenges) to $199.95 (for someone who failed to complete any challenges).
  • Male and female winners will be determined by their remaining points and their pre to post challenge improvement in body composition using our BodyMetrix ultrasound measurement.
