Each month we highlight one or more of our members in our member of the month feature. For the month of June we’ve selected Jason LeDoyen that, this past month, ran a 50 mile and an 81 mile ultramarathon. Jason is a member of our private training services. His commitment and attitude are inspiring inside and outside of Athletic Lab! In November he also hosts his own annual ultra where he gives all the proceeds to a charity and even fronts some of the bill himself.
Athletic Lab is one of the premier fitness and performance training centers in the country. We have a vibrant and diverse community ranging from fitness enthusiasts looking to get in the best shape of their lives to elite professional athletes. You can read about previous members of the month here.

Name: Jason LeDoyen
What city were you born in? Norfolk, VA

What do you do when you’re not training at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc)? IT Project Manager, Ultrarunner (focus on 100+ mile events), Race Director – Tideland 24 Ultramarathon benefitting the Marine Raider Foundation, we’ve raised over $29,000 since 2016
What’s your favorite exercise? Least favorite? I love any movement where I can utilize my cardio and get into a rhythm (kettlebell swings, wall ball, Ski erg). I’m hesitant to state my least favorite because my personal trainer, Craig, always fits those into my workout. But if I had to say it would be deep (for me just about parallel) squats. We’ve been working on this to improve my range of motion.
What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment since you started training? My time at Athletic Lab has improved my durability as an endurance athlete. Without the added strength and character (no matter how I may feel when running I can always think of a WOD where it was worse) resulting from my time at AL I would not be able to perform at the level I do when running for 24 hours.
What motivates you in your training? Being the best I can be – pushing beyond what is comfortable knowing it will make me a better athlete and person. The camaraderie with my peers and coaches – we’re all in this together and the support we provide each other is tangible.
