Greetings everybody, my name is Amer Nahhas. I am a senior at East Carolina University and studying to earn a degree as a Health Fitness Specialist . I was born in Youngstown, Ohio where I spent the first three years of my life before moving to Palestine. I moved to North Carolina in November 2008 after spending 15 years living in the Middle East and spending some time in Europe. In the spring of 2009 I started at Wake Technical Community College with the intention of transferring to a four-year institute that offered Kinesiology. As a result, I transferred to East Carolina University in the fall of 2011 after completing my Associate in Science at WTCC.

When I arrived at ECU I knew exactly what I wanted to do – to study any field within Kinesiology; from physical therapy, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, personal training, training special populations, to cardio and pulmonary rehab. As I became more involved in my degree through volunteering, classes, and participating in research, I began to develop more of a passion for physical activity and how I could help others to be healthier and more physically active. Knowing that there are many aspects to Kinesiology, I decided to do a split internship before I graduate. I started looking for internship sites in Raleigh and as a result, Athletic Lab came to me as a top option after learning about the services offered, the professionalism of the staff, and the great reviews.

During my time here, I hope to learn about everything that Athletic Lab has to offer and improve upon many aspects in the field of strength and conditioning. I plan to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Associate (NSCA). I love all sorts of sports, but I am a huge soccer guru. When you get to know me, I am easy going and competitive at times. I love to offer help as much as possible and cheer for success and hard work. I am looking forward to my time here at Athletic Lab and to offer as much help as possible, learn as much as I can, and leave a positive impact.
