As a native of Spain, he has traveled through most of Europe and lived in Belgium during his undergraduate college years. Julio arrived to the U.S. in the summer of 2010 after completing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with UMUC (University of Maryland University College) mostly through online distance education.

After landing in Virginia Beach, VA, he started a MBA in Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA). Soon after a near-death experience involving a trip to the emergency room, Julio realized something important about the shortness of life: you should try to spend your days doing something that you truly have a passion for.

With a passion for sports, athletic development, and strength and conditioning, Julio decided to leave the MBA program and apply for a Master’s in Exercise Science at ODU. After putting in the time and effort, he met all the pre-requisites, made the transition, and completed all the coursework in just over a year while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and earning his CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification by the NSCA.
Queco
Julio is a friendly guy who loves his dog Queco (pictured above). He is also one of the most soccer-passionate guys you will ever meet. His goal is to become an athletic development coach in either an individual setting or in a team setting, while continuing his writing to explore his creativity. He believes this to be paramount to the enjoyment and fulfillment of life.
