Athletic Lab is one of the premier performance centers in the country. We have a vibrant and diverse community ranging from fitness enthusiasts looking to get in the best shape of their lives to elite professional athletes. The common denominator across all our members is that they are hard-working and goal-oriented.

Each month we highlight one or more of our members in our member of the month feature. For the month of April, we’ve selected Nick Sanservino. Nick is a long time Performance Fitness member who’s known for his sense of humor (as you can read below) and commitment to fitness.

You can read about our previous members of the month here.

____________

Name:  Nick Sanservino

City of birth: Certain people at Athletic Lab think I was born in Budapest, Hungary.  This is incorrect.  Truth be told, I was born in Jersey City, New Jersey.  I’m also Italian and my father ran a “transportation” business in North Jersey long before The Sopranos became popular so it is best not to upset anyone in my family.

What I do when not at AL: I’m a lawyer (no jokes unless they’re original).  I also listen to the greatest music band of all-time (Iron Maiden) and try as best as I can to be curious — and not judgmental — throughout each day.

Favorite/Least Favorite Exercise: Hungarian split-squats (a little-known exercise) are by far my favorite exercise.  My least favorite exercise is the one where you need 17 stitches after flubbing a box jump.

Greatest Accomplishments at AL:  I’ve consistently worked out with the same partner (Chad Sthole) for over 6 years and despite being in our mid-to-late 40s, we always are willing to experiment with new programs and get feedback from all of the AL coaches.  Aside from that, I think one time I legitimately received a compliment from Dr. Mike while doing an exercise at AL.  That’s probably been the biggest accomplishment of my life.

What Motivates Me To Train:  Besides Dr. Mike?  I think seeing many true athletes train at AL over the years, particularly the AL track team.  Observing their hard-work and dedication to their craft is always educational and motivating, even though I’m faster than all of them.
