Athletic Lab is one of the premier performance centers in the country. We have a vibrant and diverse community ranging from fitness enthusiasts looking to get in the best shape of their lives to elite professional athletes. The common denominator across all our members is that they are hard-working and goal-oriented.
Each month we highlight one or more of our members in our member of the month feature. For the month of October we’ve selected Rajesh Shriyan. Rajesh is a long time member of our Performance Fitness program.
You can read about our previous members of the month here.

What city were you born in Mumbai, India
What do you do when you’re not working out at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc) I lead a team of technology architects and data/analytics specialists at NetApp. My passion is technology and building and growing teams. It keeps me motivated at work :). If I am not working out at AL, I spend most of my time hauling my kids (Tanya – 17 and Neal -15) to soccer and volleyball games and practices. Whatever limited time we get, we love to travel for leisure. I am a big NFL fan and enjoy following my west coast team from here…. #RAIDERS4LIFE
My hobbies include driving fast cars and enjoying/collecting bourbon :).
What’s your favorite exercise? Least favorite I am down for Squats anytime. Nightmare scenario: Carpet crawlers (Heavy sled push) combined with running.
What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment since you started training I started working out at The Lab about 8+ years ago. It started with a visit to the Dr where she told me my lifestyle was too sedentary and my blood pressure was way too high and if it’s not managed, the next steps will be medication. Fast forward, it’s a thing of the past thanks to AL and a well balanced diet.
What motivates you in your training I never did Olympic Lifts before AL and after 8+ years of training, I am still trying to get better at it. Constant learning is something that keeps me engaged at work and in personal life. In addition, it’s always motivating to see other members pushing their limits during every workout and it’s a constant source of inspiration.
