Athletic Lab is one of the premier performance centers in the country. We are trusted by professional and elite athletes as well as fitness enthusiasts looking to get in the best shape of their lives. One of our greatest strengths is our vibrant and diverse community. The common thread across all our members is that they are hard-working and goal-oriented.
Each month we highlight one or more of our members in our member of the month feature. For the month of February, we’ve chosen Sarah Glidden and Ty Grob. Sarah and Ty are members of the Athletic Lab Track Club and recently turned in performances in the pentathlon and heptathlon which ranked them in the top 15 in the world.

What’s your least favorite exercise Favorite Exercise? My least favorite exercise are reverse lunges cause they hurt my toes. My favorite exercise is Turkish get ups, because THEY’RE GREAT.
What do you enjoy most about competing post-collegiately My favorite part about competing post collegiately is that I get to compete against the best in the U.S./World. I love trying to beat the best no matter the odds and the challenge is what makes it fun.
What competition stands out the most to you and why I would say the decathlon that sticks out the most would be the TGA dec from 2018. I was a little broken going into it but I ended up putting up a big day two for the score that got me into my first USATF champs.
What motivates you Honestly, it’s several different things. Ranging in different levels of positivity and toxicity. My biggest motivator is my love for the decathlon and how it’s a part of me after 12 years of doing it. I love doing it, I love the challenge, and seeing the improvements week to week with Mike fires me up.

What’s your least favorite exercise Favorite Exercise? Least favorite: Turkish Get Ups; Favorite: kBOX squats – giving us the opportunity to do exercises like this puts Athletic Lab ahead of most training facilities.
What do you enjoy most about competing post-collegiately I enjoy being surrounded by other individuals whose goals align with mine. I also think competing is such an amazing platform to give God the glory while working hard to pursue my dreams.
What competition stands out the most to you and why My most recent competition at Liberty University was a memorable one. This was the first time I competed in a meet post-collegiately and I set a 366 point PR in the Pentathlon. My previous PR was set when I was the D3 National Champion – so being able to crush that score has helped my confidence.
What motivates you My faith, family, and friends. It motivates me knowing I have a solid group of people in Wisconsin and now a group in NC who support and push me.
