Athletic Lab athlete Nicole Buckley has been selected to participate in U.S. Field Hockey National Futures Championship. She was one of twenty-two field players in her age group chosen from the Southern Region, which includes Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
The National Futures Championship is the premier championship event for the U.S. Field Hockey Futures Program and is a highly attended event by college recruiters and USA Field Hockey high performance staff. The Futures program is the U.S. Olympic development pipeline, which nearly all U.S. Women’s National Team members and Olympians have participated in.
Nicole has been playing field hockey for three years, and is a key member for the Carolina All Stars Field Hockey Club Team and an active participant in Athletic Lab’s Scholastic Program.
The 2015 National Futures Championship will be held in Lancaster, PA from June 23-26 where she will be placed on a team comprised of girls from all over the nation to be further evaluated for participation in additional elite field hockey training sessions and tournaments.
