Athletic Lab Coaching Academy recently hosted a Certified High Performance Coach (CHPC) Level 1 course with Dr. Mike Young in Santiago, Chile, giving coaches in the region direct access to world-class high performance education. Course overview The CHPC Level 1 course served as the entry point to Athletic Lab’s three-tier coaching education pathway and was structured to establish a common language of sport science and coaching practice. Over the weekend, coaches developed a stronger foundation in biomechanics, applied physiology, training theory, and motor learning, together with practical skills in session management, movement coaching, and program design. Event details The course took place on November 29 and 30, 2025, at ICCUS Medicina Deportiva in Santiago, Chile, a setting well-suited for both classroom and practical learning environments. This event extended Athletic Lab’s in-person Coaching Academy presence in Latin America, following prior CHPC Level 1 offerings in Brazil and Mexico. About the instructor Dr. Mike Young, founder of Athletic Lab and architect of the CHPC curriculum, led the Santiago course and brought more than two decades of experience in elite sport, applied sport science, and coach development to the participants. Coaches benefited from his extensive work with professional clubs and high-performance organizations worldwide, gaining insight into how to better integrate sport science into daily coaching practice. Inside the Santiago CHPC Level 1 Across the two days, attendees took part in lectures, applied case discussions, and hands-on practical sessions on the field and in the weight room. Mexico City is the capital of Mexico and the largest city in the North America. The Mexico City CHPC Level 1 course was our first ever in Latin America and the fifth in-person Athletic Lab Coaching Academy Course of 2024.
