Athletic Lab hosts 2023 North Carolina NSCA Conference

Athletic Lab proudly hosted the 2023 National Strength & Conditioning Association's (NSCA) North Carolina state conference. The event featured nine expert speakers from around the country and was attended by 180 coaches from the North Carolina and neighboring states. The NSCA was founded in 1978. Athletic Lab's Mike Young has served as a state advisory board member of the NSCA since 2022. The organization is widely considered the largest and most respected organization in the profession. The NSCA is a nonprofit association dedicated to advancing the strength and conditioning and related sport science professions around the world. The NSCA exists to empower a community of professionals to maximize their impact through disseminating evidence-based knowledge and its practical application by offering industry-leading certifications, research journals, career development services, networking opportunities, and continuing education. The NSCA community is composed of more than 60,000 members and certified professionals throughout the world who further industry standards as researchers, educators, strength and conditioning coaches, performance and sport scientists, personal trainers, tactical professionals, and other related roles. -National Strength & Conditioning Association Athletic Lab has a long history of hosting major sport and coaching education events including the North American Strongman Championships, multiple USA Weightlifting North Carolina State Championships and certification events for USTFCCCA and USA Weightlifting.

Athletic Lab Weightlifting Team brings home medals from Arnold Classic / NAO1

The Athletic Lab Weightlifting Team recently returned from Columbus, OH where they competed at the 2023 North American Open Series 1. The meet was the first USA Weightlifting American Open Series Meet of the 2023 calendar year. The meet took place at the Arnold Sports Festival. The festival is the largest fitness and strength event in the world. The North American Open Series brings together many of the top Weightlifters in the country. The team boasted six Top 10 finishes including 12 Medals. Athletic Lab Weightlifting Summer Classic Results

Athletic Lab hosted its annual Summer Classic Weightlifting meet on Saturday, June 22nd. Check out the full results and medal winners below: Summer Classic Results Summer Classic Medal Winners Athletic Lab hosted competitors from all over North Carolina and surrounding states. Returning athletes and new faces alike shared the platform looking for personal bests and qualifying totals. Athletic Lab is proud to allow athletes of all age and ability to compete in well organized and smoothly run sanctioned meets, doing its part in fueling a large culture of weightlifting in the Southeast region. This was also the last weightlifting meet to be held in Athletic Lab's Cary location. This fall marks a move to a brand new, bigger, and more well-equipped facility a couple miles away in Morrisville, opening the possibilities for even better weightlifting meet experiences. Athletic Lab Winter Weightlifting Classic Results

Athletic Lab hosted it's annual Winter Classic Weightlifting meet on Saturday, February 17th. Check out the full results and medal winners below: Winter Classic Results Winter Classic Medal Winners Athletic Lab hosted 75 Weightlifting competitors from all over North Carolina and surrounding states. This marked our largest single-day meet yet. Successes were plenty throughout the day with multiple National qualifying totals being met. Many first time competitors got their feet wet on the same platform as experienced veterans of the sport, continuing to fuel a large culture of weightlifting in the Southeast region. Athletic Lab Summer Weightlifting Classic Registration

Athletic Lab has a track record of putting on some of the largest and best single day weightlifting meets in North Carolina. This summer we're hosting a massive two day USAW sanctioned event on July 16th and 17th. The female weight classes will compete on Saturday, July 16th and the male weight classes will compete on Sunday, July 17th. We host multiple weightlifting meets every year with the most experienced staff on meet day. We have a competition platform (13'x13'), Eleiko competition bars and bumper plates, and 9 warmup platforms with competition bars and bumper plates for each. Compete at Ruck Run 2.0

Get your Ruck on with a buddy at Bond Park! This Ruck Run will be in a challenge style format with 2 person teams competing against each other in a series of events involving running, canoeing, hill sprints, and more. Success at Performance Fitness Team Competition

This weekend we hosted a CrossFit team event. Two person teams battled it out for a chance to compete at SuperFit Cary. The Rx division came down to Branden Fournier & coach Houston Deck against coach Drake Webster & Vivianne Papp. The scaled division final event pitted Dan & Erica Jones against Sasha Betz & Delaney Register. It came down to the final minutes, but Branden & Houston and Dan & Erica came out with wins in their respective division. Congrats to all the competitors and the winners. We look forward to seeing everyone compete at SuperFit Cary. We want to make this a staple in our event offerings. Be on the lookout for our next team event.

Performance Fitness Team Competition at Athletic Lab

Athletic Lab is holding a team competition Saturday, September 12th. This competition is open to all members. Two person teams may consist of M/M, F/F, or M/F. At least one person from each team must be a current member at Athletic Lab. Competition Date: September 12th Registration Closes: September 7th Divisions: Rx / Scaled Price: $40 per team ($20 per person) Register NOW! All teams are guaranteed three events with an opportunity to compete in the final event for a chance to win a free team entry to SuperFit Cary. If you have already registered for SuperFit Cary we will refund your fee. If you compete and win in the scaled division at this event, you must compete in the Scaled division at SuperFit Games Cary. In addition to the top teams winning a free SuperFit Cary registration, part of the proceeds from the event will go to the Special Olympics of North Carolina. All events will be released the week before the event.
