Coach Funderburk’s win highlights Athletic Lab team performance at Spartan Sprint

Women's Charlotte Spartan Sprint Winner Stephanie Funderburk Athletic Lab's Endurance group sent a team of 10 athletes to participate in the Charlotte Spartan Sprint. Athletic Lab coach and Director of Private Training Stephanie Funderburk won the women's division besting all female competitors and coming in 98th overall. The team placed 36th out of 660 teams. High quality photos of the event are posted HERE. The event took place at Porter Farms, a 600-acre family owned and operated establishment in the peaceful town of Concord, North Carolina. The 3+ mile course was spread out over 100 acres of land. Our Endurance group represents individuals from a variety of backgrounds. The group started as members participating in our Endurance classes but has morphed in to a community and race team all to itself. The group regularly participates in local and regional endurance events ranging from obstacle races, ultra races, and marathons. In 2015, the team dominated the Ninja Challenge.

Stephanie Funderburk earns Precision Nutrition Certification

Just weeks following Coach John Grace earning his Masters degree, Stephanie Funderburk, earned her Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification. Stephanie is Athletic Lab's Director of Private Training. Precision Nutrition is a leading authority in Nutrition and Health Coaching. Their Level 1 Certification is regarded as the best nutrition and wellness certification in the field. As a company, Precision Nutrition has advised companies like Apple, Nike and Equinox. Their methods have been implemented with professional teams as far reaching as the San Antonio Spurs and Seattle Seahawks. The certification distinguishes itself by not only the depth of information (equivalent to a Masters course) but also bridging the gap between knowledge and application. Athletic Lab's coaching staff is among the most educated, experienced and credentialed in the country. The minimum requirements for our coaching staff easily exceed the qualifications of the most credentialed coaches at our competitors. We are continually striving to stay ahead of the curve and on the cutting edge of our field.

Stephanie Shaw finishes 4th at Ninja Challenge

Athletic Lab coach Stephanie Shaw took part in the 5k Ninja Challenge. Along with the Athletic Lab race team finishing 11th out of 50 teams overall, Stephanie finished 4th out of 672 female runners with a time of 33:07. Be sure to congratulate Stephanie and the entire Athletic Lab race team.
