Athletic Lab Hosts Successful March Madness Weightlifting Meet

Athletic Lab recently hosted our annual Winter Weightlifting Classic, a USA Weightlifting sanctioned event that brought together the region’s lifting community for an action-packed day of competition. The competition ran for an exciting 12 hours on Saturday, March 21st. We were proud to host 69 athletes representing 14 different clubs, competing across four high-energy sessions throughout the day. To determine our "Best Lifter" awards across different body weights, we utilize the Sinclair Coefficient, a formula that allows us to compare strength across all weight classes fairly. The competition was fierce, with six male lifters posting a Sinclair over 300 and six female lifters exceeding a Sinclair of 200. 2026 March Madness Weightlifting Meet

Athletic Lab Weightlifting Club is excited to announce the 2026 March Madness Weightlifting Meet, a USA Weightlifting (USAW) sanctioned event on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Morrisville, NC. Registration will be limited to 80 athletes and is expected to fill quickly, so competitors are encouraged to claim their spot early. Event details This USAW sanctioned Olympic weightlifting meet will feature the snatch and clean & jerk, with results officially submitted to USA Weightlifting. A valid, up‑to‑date USAW membership is required to compete and must be active on the day of the meet and at the time of results submission. The March Madness meet will be held at Athletic Lab, located at 110 Competition Center Drive, Morrisville, NC 27560. Lifting will run from 9:00 AM to approximately 7:00 PM on a single platform with experienced officials and meet staff. Registration and pricing Registration is first‑come, first‑served and capped at 80 lifters. Tiered pricing rewards early sign‑ups and helps ensure sessions stay efficient and competitive. Early registration: 75.00 (through 02/06/26) Normal registration: 95.00 (02/07/26 – 03/07/26) Late registration: 120.00 (03/08/26 – 03/15/26), with late entry not guaranteed a t‑shirt The registration deadline is end of day on 03/15/26, with no entries accepted after that date. Athletes are strongly encouraged to double‑check all registration details (name, USAW number, weight class, date of birth, and club) to avoid delays in results processing. Our 2025 Winter Classic (2/1/2025) will be a great opportunity for those looking to step on the weightlifting platform for the first time, those looking to compete locally, and provide an opportunity to qualify for National Meets. For the month of August we've selected Wakeland Branz, Tim Neal and Eva Young as our Members of the Month. These three outstanding individuals qualified and competed at the USA Weightlifting National Championships. All three athletes are members of the Athletic Lab Weightlifting Team. The team is led by USA Weightlifting National Coach Jarrod Nobbe, MS.  The club is recognized as an official Weightlifting Club by USA Weightlifting. We rank among the very best in the region and our athletes compete at the local, national and international levels. At the event, the three youth athletes had strong showings. Registration Open for 2023 Athletic Lab Summer Weightlifting Classic

The Athletic Lab Weightlifting Team will host its annual Weightlifting Summer Classic on Saturday, June 3rd. This meet is a USA Weightlifting sanctioned event. If you’re an experienced weightlifter, it’s time to lock down your next competition at one of the best meets you’ll find in the region. If you’re new to the sport, there’s never been a better time or venue to get your feet wet. Athletic Lab weightlifting meets host all weight classes, age divisions, and skill levels, and do their best at making it a memorable experience. We have a competition platform (13’x13′), Eleiko and Werksan bars and bumper plates, and 10 warm-up platforms with competition bars and bumper plates. You won’t find a better competition venue anywhere else in the state of North Carolina. We take high-quality photos of every lifter, use meet management software, and provide meet t-shirts to all of our competitors as value-added benefits. Athletic Lab Weightlifting Team brings home medals from Arnold Classic / NAO1

The Athletic Lab Weightlifting Team recently returned from Columbus, OH where they competed at the 2023 North American Open Series 1. The meet was the first USA Weightlifting American Open Series Meet of the 2023 calendar year. The meet took place at the Arnold Sports Festival. The festival is the largest fitness and strength event in the world. The North American Open Series brings together many of the top Weightlifters in the country. The team boasted six Top 10 finishes including 12 Medals.
