Athletic Lab hosted it's annual Winter Classic Weightlifting meet on Saturday, February 9th. Athletic Lab Winter Weightlifting Classic Results

Athletic Lab hosted their annual Winter Weightlifting Classic on February 18th. Many of the Athletic Lab Weightlifters took to the platform and many had medal performances in their respective weight and age classes. In the men's senior division, Mike Young and Roman Roethlisberger took 1st and 2nd place in the 77kg weight class. James Weng took 3rd in the 94kg weight class. James De Klerk took 3rd in the 105kg weight class. Sasha Betz took home 3rd place in her weight class category in the women's senior division. Maddy Vessey placed 2nd in the women's junior division in her weight class. In the men's masters division, Ryan Daigle, Brian Burdette, and Andrew Vessey took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, respectively, in their age brackets. Athletic Lab Weightlifting Summer Classic Results

Athletic held their annual Summer Weightlifting Classic on July 16th and 17th. This was the largest meet Athletic Lab has held to date with over 90 competitors in two days. Athletic Lab Team Win Ninja Challenge 5km Obstacle Run

This past weekend, Athletic Lab sent a team of 24 to run the Ninja Challenge 5km Obstacle Run. Lead by Tristan York, Adam Kohn, Jeff Ludwig, Matt Nelson, and Devon Jarvis the group handily won the team division by 3 minutes. The Ninja Challenge is a 5k obstacle race that tests the "Ninja" fitness of competitors by running up walls, climbing over walls, and jumping over water. The Ninja Challenge goes beyond a simple race to test athleticism and endurance over 20 challenging obstacles. Congrats to the team. High quality photos of the event are available here.

Athletic Lab Weightlifting Club bring home 2 medals from Masters National Championships

The Athletic Lab Weightlifting Club sent 3 members to compete at the Masters Weightlifting National Championships in Monrovia, CA. Barry Myers competed in the mens 55-59 year old 69kg (152 lbs) weight division, James Gold competed in the mens 35-39 year old 94kg (207 lbs) weight division, and Athletic Lab founder Dr. Mike Young competed in the mens 35-39 year old 77kg (170 lbs) weight division. Barry brought home a gold medal by snatching 75kg (165 lbs) and clean and jerking 97kg (213 lbs) for a total of 172kg (378 lbs). Young took 2nd in his weight division with a snatch of 98kg (216 lbs) and a clean and jerk of 122kg (268 lbs) to total 220kg (484 lbs). Winning Young's session was current American record holder and Olympian Chad Vaughn who was awarded the top lifter of the meet. Jef Souza wins 3 National Championships

Athletic Lab Masters Track & Field athlete won three national championships at the USA Track & Field Masters Indoor National Championships held in Winston-Salem, NC on March 20th-22nd. Souza won national championships in the long jump, 60m hurdles and pentathlon less than a month after winning a national championship in the heptathlon in Kenosha, WI. Jef also took second place in the shot put. Souza competes in the 40-44 year old age bracket and is a world champion, multi-time national champion and national record holder. Jef Souza resides in Miami but has been coached by Athletic Lab's Dr. Mike Young for the past 5 years as part of Athletic Lab's correspondence training team and is a regular visitor to Athletic Lab.
