December Members of the Month: North Carolina FC

Athletic Lab is one of the premier fitness and performance training centers in the country, and each month we highlight one or more of our members in our member of the month feature. We have an energetic and diverse community ranging from fitness enthusiasts looking to get in the best shape of their lives to elite professional athletes. You can read about previous members of the month here. For the month of December we've selected the North Carolina Football Club as our members of the month. On November 5th, North Carolina FC won the 2023 USL League One Championship. The match was a thrilling win for the club decided on penalty kicks (5-4) over the Charlotte Independence following a 1-1 final at WakeMed Soccer Park. North Carolina FC's Raheem Somersall was named Final MVP. The championship was the club's first league final championship, and second overall title, in the team’s 17-year history. Athletic Lab has been the official strength and conditioning providers for the club for over a decade (2009-2011; 2015-Present) including during the club's previous top achievements: NASL Supporters Cup: 2011 NASL Conference Champions: 2010 In the gym, the team is managed by Athletic Lab coach Mohammed Ameen. Coach Mohammed has been the team's primary coach since 2021. North Carolina scored in the last 22 games of the season, their longest run of games with a goal in the competition (since at least 2019/2020). The club finishes a worst-to-first turnaround in their final season in USL League One. The team will compete in the USL Championship, United States’ second division, beginning in 2024.

Members of the Month: NCFC Youth Athletes

Athletic Lab is the training home of professional and elite athletes as well as adults looking to get in the best shape of their lives. Our community is diverse and vibrant. The commonality across our diverse community is that everyone is hard-working and goal-minded. Each month we highlight one (or more) of our members in our member of the month feature. For the month of April, we've been forced to close access to our facility in support of the global fight against COVID-19. But we still have 100s of athletes and fitness enthusiasts following our online and virtual training options. Perhaps the most impressive commitment to staying fit in spite of the challenging conditions are the players of North Carolina FC Youth. We have had almost 600 players voluntarily commit to our online soccer fitness program. For this amazing dedication we've selected the players of the club as our April members of the month. You can also check out our previous members of the month here. Athletic Lab trains the Academy, ECNL and Classic Elite level teams of North Carolina Football Club Youth. Additionally, Athletic Lab's Mike Young is the Performance Director for the club's men's & women's senior Pro teams (North Carolina FC and North Carolina Courage). ____________ How many players are in the club? Member of the Month: Austin da Luz

Athletic Lab is the training home of professional and elite athletes as well as adults looking to get in the best shape of their lives. We have a vibrant and diverse community of hard-working, goal-minded individuals. Each month we highlight one (or more) of our members in our member of the month feature. For our November member of the month, we've chosen Austin da Luz. Austin is a member of the North Carolina Football Club. The club has trained with Athletic Lab for 8 of the past 10 years. Austin recently competed a storied career that saw him play for the club for 10 seasons. You can also check out our previous members of the month here. Name: Austin da Luz What city were you born in Born in San Diego, CA and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. What do you do when you're not working out at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc) Until very recently I was a professional soccer player at North Carolina FC. I also enjoy reading, walking my dog, and watching TV and movies. What's your favorite exercise? Least favorite My favorite exercise is weighted push-ups, and my least favorite is warming up. What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment I'm very proud of having played soccer professionally for 10 years. There have been many great moments and victories, but to have been able to play for that long at a high level is something I will never take for granted. What motivates you When I do anything I just want to do it as well as I possibly can. That's pretty much it.

Member of the Month: Heather O’Reilly

Athletic Lab is the training home of professional and elite athletes as well as adults looking to get in the best shape of their lives. The common thread in our vibrant and diverse community is being goal-oriented and hard-working. No one embodies this more than our September Member of the Month - Heather O'Reilly. Each month we highlight one (or more) of our members in our member of the month feature. You can check out our previous members of the month here. Heather is a member of the North Carolina Courage and arguably the most accomplished athlete to ever set foot in our doors. Athletic Lab has been the official sports performance training and sports science providers for the North Carolina Courage since their inception in 2017. During which time they've become the winningest team in North American Professional Soccer history. Athletic Lab's Mike Young is the Performance Manager for the team. Heather is a true legend of the sport of soccer. She has 230 international caps and has made 3 World Cup appearances. Heather has won at every level of the sport and recently announced her retirement following the current NWSL season. She first trained at Athletic Lab as far back as 2014. Summer Sports Performance Training Schedule Changes

Summer break is just around the corner but there's no such thing as a training break for committed athletes. That's why we're increasing our session availability for all our Sports Performance programs for the summer break. Effective Monday June 10th, please note our schedule will update to the following: Scholastic Sports Performance Athletic Lab's Scholastic Sports Performance program is a planned and progressive training plan designed to systematically develop speed, strength, power and conditioning in high school age athletes. Mon-Fri: 10 am, 3:45 pm, 5 pm Sat: 11 am NCFC Youth Sports Performance Our NCFC Youth Sports Performance program is our soccer fitness training specifically for the NCFC Youth athletes. Athletic Lab has been trusted by the North Carolina Football Club and North Carolina Courage senior pro teams for years and will make you a physical presence on the pitch. Mon / Wed / Fri: 1:30 pm, 6:15 pm University Soccer Prep Sports Performance Athletic Lab's Soccer University Prep program is designed to train university and university committed soccer players for the demands of collegiate soccer. NCFC Youth Summer Soccer Training

With Summer just around the corner, it's time to up your soccer fitness. We're excited to announce the expansion of our NCFC Youth Training program. Athletic Lab has been the official training center for the North Carolina FC and North Carolina Courage professional teams for years and in 2017, we began offering the same training experience to the NCFC Youth teams. We will help you develop strength, speed and endurance that will directly translate to performance on the pitch. You'll work with the same coaches who work with the NCFC senior pro teams. Effective June 10th, we're expanding our training schedule to the following: Mon / Wed / Fri at 1:30 PM & 6:15PM
