Birmingham, MI. What do you do when you’re not training at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc)? Retired vehicle-dynamics mechanical engineer and software developer. Swing dancing: Balboa and Lindy Hop. What’s your favorite exercise? Cleans. Least favorite? Split squats. What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment since you started training? Increased hip mobility. What motivates you in your training? The challenge of weightlifting and the resulting better quality of life.

Jasper Martin – October Member of the Month

I was born in Raleigh, NC What do you do when you’re not training at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc)? Outside of Athletic Lab I mostly focus on school, but when I'm not doing that I like to play violin, spend time with friends and family, and work on improving myself and my lifestyle. What’s your favorite exercise? Least favorite? My least favorite exercise is probably pull-ups, but only when I have to superset them with deadlifts. My favorite exercise is definitely bench press. Comp Team – Members of the Month

Each month, we highlight one or more of our members in our Member of the Month feature. For the month of September, we’ve selected Dean Alaimo, Chase Day, Chris Hoina, Ashley Kitchens, Julia Rao, and Ryan Weber as our Members of the Month. Each of the athletes are members of the Athletic Lab Competition Team. The team is led by Coach Kyrie Furr. On August 3rd, the Competition Team competed at the SCF Summer Slam ’24. Coach Furr also competed. The competition was held at Summit CrossFit in Asheville, NC. The competition consisted of 3 workouts with co-ed teams of two. At the event, the Competition Team had a strong showing: 1st Place Scaled - Chase Day & Julia Rao 3rd Place Intermediate - Dean Alaimo & Kyrie Furr 4th Place RX - Ashley Kitchens & Ryan Weber Athletic Lab is one of the premier fitness and performance training centers in the country. Wakeland Branz, Tim Neal and Eva Young – August Members of the Month

Weightlifting Team Member Tim Neal Each month we highlight one or more of our members in our member of the month feature. For the month of August we've selected Wakeland Branz, Tim Neal and Eva Young as our Members of the Month. These three outstanding individuals qualified and competed at the USA Weightlifting National Championships. All three athletes are members of the Athletic Lab Weightlifting Team. The team is led by USA Weightlifting National Coach Jarrod Nobbe, MS.  The club is recognized as an official Weightlifting Club by USA Weightlifting. We rank among the very best in the region and our athletes compete at the local, national and international levels. At the event, the three youth athletes had strong showings. Member of The Month: Jason LeDoyen

Each month we highlight one or more of our members in our member of the month feature. For the month of June we've selected Jason LeDoyen that, this past month, ran a 50 mile and an 81 mile ultramarathon. Jason is a member of our private training services. His commitment and attitude are inspiring inside and outside of Athletic Lab! In November he also hosts his own annual ultra where he gives all the proceeds to a charity and even fronts some of the bill himself. Least favorite? I love any movement where I can utilize my cardio and get into a rhythm (kettlebell swings, wall ball, Ski erg). When I’m not training…I am an eye surgeon by day, busy mom of 2 girls at night, and an associate professor who teaches and works with international companies in ophthalmology. Member Of the Month: Seth Catalahana

For the month of April we've selected Seth Catalahana as the Member of the Month. Seth joined Athletic Lab 7 years ago and he has been one of the most assiduous and enthusiastic members our community ever since. He loves to workout, he is always up for a challenge and is also always ready to show his best dance moves! When I was three years old my family and I moved to Charlotte. We lived there for eight years. Then in 2014 we moved to Cary. What do you do when you’re not training at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc)?  I'm a full-time student studying meteorology and atmospheric science. When I'm not at school or at the gym, I enjoy listening to music and traveling to new places when I can. I am very excited about my upcoming trip to Portugal! What’s your favorite exercise? I spent my childhood and early adulthood in NY. I later moved down to NC when I was 27. I have been in NC for 16 years now and love it. Member of the Month: Elijah Dawes

For the month of June we've selected Elijah Dawes. Elijah Dawes is a track athlete that has recently committed to NC State Track & Field team, after overcoming a hip surgery through hard work and perseverance. What do you do when you’re not training at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc)? Video games, going to the movies, I'm a student, graduating from northwest Guilford High school on June 9. What’s your favorite exercise? Least favorite?  Favorite is power clean; least favorite is core exercises What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment since you started training? I broke 48 seconds in the 400 meter sprint and that was a huge accomplishment,  one that I had been working toward for a long time. Member of the Month: Chase Day

Barboursville, WV What do you do when you’re not training at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc)? Outside of the Athletic Lab I’m a Commodities Specialist for State Electric Supply Co. I spend most of my free time with my wife and dog. My favorite hobby is trying something new. It could be food, coffee, golf courses, hiking trails, parks, or travel destinations.
